§ 03 · how to use it

Four steps, then you're live.

  1. Pick a theme, an accent color and a font style, the preview restyles instantly.
  2. Fill in the form sections: name and role, about, skills, projects, experience, education and contact. Untick “show” on any section you don't need.
  3. Check the live preview in desktop and phone view as you go, and use Restore example / Start blank / Save JSON to manage drafts.
  4. Click Download website to get one index.html, then upload it to GitHub Pages or Netlify Drop for a free live URL.

Frequently asked questions.

Is Portfolio Maker free?
Yes, completely free for everyone. No sign-up, no account, no watermark you can't turn off, and no usage limits.
Is it private? Is my data or photo uploaded anywhere?
No upload, ever. The form, the photo cropping and the website generation all run in your browser on your own device. Your draft is stored only in this browser's local storage.
How do I put my portfolio online?
Download the file, then create a free GitHub repository named yourusername.github.io and upload index.html to it, your site is live at that address in about a minute. Dragging the file onto Netlify Drop works too.
Will I lose my draft if I close the tab?
No, the draft autosaves in this browser and reloads when you come back. Clearing site data removes it, so use Save JSON for a backup file you control, and Load JSON to restore it anywhere.
Can I edit the exported website afterwards?
Yes. The export is one plain HTML file with its CSS and a tiny script inlined, open it in any editor and change whatever you like. You can also come back here, tweak the form and re-download at any time.
