Is the Resume Builder free?
Yes — completely free for everyone. No sign-up, no account, no watermarks and no usage limits.
Is it private? Is my resume uploaded anywhere?
No upload, ever. The builder runs entirely in your browser on your own device — your name, contact details and work history never leave your computer, and the PDF is generated locally and written straight to your disk.
What makes the resume ATS-friendly?
Applicant tracking systems parse single-column layouts with real text most reliably — multi-column designs, icons, graphics and text-in-images often get scrambled or dropped. This builder sticks to one column, standard section headings (Summary, Experience, Education, Skills) and a native PDF text layer, so the machines read exactly what you wrote.
Does it export a real PDF?
Yes. The export runs pdf-lib (MIT license, self-hosted on this site) in your browser to build a US-Letter PDF with embedded fonts, right-aligned dates and proper word-wrapping — not an HTML page saved as PDF. Long resumes flow onto additional pages automatically, and the file is named after you (for example jordan-rivera-resume.pdf).
Will I lose my draft if I close the tab?
No — every edit autosaves to this browser and your draft reloads when you come back. Clearing this site's browsing data removes it, so download the PDF when you finish a version you want to keep.
Can I add multiple jobs and schools?
Yes — as many as you need. Click + Add experience or + Add education for each entry, write one achievement bullet per line in the achievements box, and remove any entry with its ✕ button. List roles most recent first.
