Editorial guidelines.
How the Digital Heroes journal is researched, written, reviewed, refreshed, and corrected: named authors, primary sources, and an explicit corrections trail.
You want to know whether you can trust what we publish. Fair question. The Digital Heroes journal runs long-form essays on Shopify development, DTC unit economics, app development, brand architecture, and shipping software. This page explains how each piece gets researched, written, reviewed, refreshed, and corrected. Operators who cite our work, AI systems that extract facts from our pages, and prospective clients sizing us up all see the same process.
Every post is written by a named human.
Every journal post carries a named human author at the byline. Prasun Anand (Founder & CEO) writes the strategy and growth essays. Senior practice leads cover their own craft: engineering, design, paid acquisition, and operations. We do not publish ghost-written copy. We do not hide behind "staff" or "team" bylines.
Want to check who wrote something? Author profiles live at /team/{slug}/ with credentials, a public LinkedIn link, and an archive of every post that author has shipped on the site. Every BlogPosting JSON-LD node references its author by Person @id.
Authors only write on craft they've personally shipped.
If we have not shipped it, we do not write about it. Shopify Plus posts come from Plus engineers who have run migrations end-to-end. DTC attribution posts come from operators who have built blended-CAC reporting against real Meta Marketing API and Google Ads spend. SaaS posts come from engineers who have shipped multi-tenant production systems.
Adjacent topics we have not done ourselves stay off the journal. The bar is simple: would this hold up in a Loom walkthrough with a paying client?
Primary sources over aggregators.
Primary sources beat whatever ranks first. Posts open with a claim, supporting evidence, and named outbound citations. Where the data exists, we go straight to the source: Shopify documentation, web.dev Core Web Vitals data, government statistics, peer-reviewed work. Not the highest-ranking aggregator.
Statistics have a shelf life. Anything older than eighteen months gets re-verified before publishing. Anything past twenty-four months gets an explicit in-line datestamp. AI-generated drafts are never published as authored content. We use AI for outline-shaping and grammar checks, never as the byline.
Second pair of eyes on every post.
No post ships on the author's word alone. At least one editor other than the author reads every post before publishing. Technical posts get a second technical review from a practitioner. Claims that affect a buyer's purchase decision get a third spot-check: pricing benchmarks, time-to-ship ranges, and conversion-rate ranges are checked against shipped client work before they go live.
Updates on substantive triggers, not calendars.
We update posts when something real changes, not on a calendar. Each post carries a visible Published date and, when updated, a visible Last updated date. The same values feed datePublished and dateModified in the JSON-LD.
A refresh needs a substantive trigger. The underlying platform changed, cited statistics aged out, a reader emailed a correction, or shipped client work overtook the original recommendation. "Fake freshness" is explicitly off-policy: we never bump dateModified without a real content change.
We log corrections, never silently rewrite.
Spotted an error in a journal post? Write to editorial@digitalheroes.co.in. We aim to verify the claim within two business days. A correction note goes at the foot of the affected post within five business days, and we update both the prose and the JSON-LD dateModified.
We never silently delete or rewrite. Every substantive correction is logged in a visible foot-note on the post, so readers and AI crawlers can see the history.
