Why edit video in the browser?

Most free online trimmers upload your footage to their servers. This tool runs a WebAssembly build of FFmpeg directly in your browser, so your video is processed on your own machine and never leaves it. The engine downloads once, then works offline. Some locked-down browsers block large WebAssembly downloads, if a run fails, try a different browser.

Trim any video to MP4 Set a start and end time, then download a clean MP4 clip of just that range.
Convert a segment to GIF Turn any moment into an animated GIF with your choice of frame rate and width.
Playhead trim points Scrub the preview, then hit β€œSet start” or β€œSet end” to lock the range to the current frame.
Frame-accurate timestamps Type exact start and end times in seconds when you need a precise cut.
Fast stream-copy trimming MP4 clips copy without re-encoding when possible, so they export in seconds and stay lossless.
No upload, no account The whole tool runs in your browser with a one-time WebAssembly engine, nothing is uploaded.
§ 03 · how to use it

Five steps, no manual.

  1. Drop your video file onto the upload area, or click to browse. It never leaves your device.
  2. Set your start and end times with the sliders, the number inputs, or the β€œSet start / end to playhead” buttons.
  3. Choose your output: Trim β†’ MP4 for a video clip, or Make GIF with your chosen frame rate and width.
  4. Click the action button and wait for the one-time engine to finish (first run only) while the progress bar fills.
  5. Download your result once the preview appears, MP4 or GIF, straight to your device.

Is the Video Trim & GIF maker free?
Yes, completely free for everyone. No sign-up, no account, no watermark and no usage limits.
Is it private? Are my videos uploaded anywhere?
Nothing is uploaded. The tool runs entirely in your browser on your own device, so your video files never leave your computer, only the FFmpeg engine itself is downloaded once from a public CDN.
Does it work offline?
Yes, after the one-time engine download (~25 MB), trimming and GIF making keep working even without an internet connection.
Which video formats can I load?
MP4, WebM, MOV and most common video files. If a clip uses an unusual codec that can’t be re-encoded, try the Make GIF mode or a different source file.
How long can a GIF be?
There’s no hard limit, but GIFs over roughly 30 seconds get very large. For a shareable file, trim to a shorter range and keep the width and frame rate modest.
Do I need to install anything or create an account?
No. Just open the page and start using it, no account and no app install. Only the one-time engine download happens the first time you trim or make a GIF.
