§ 04 · faq

Frequently asked questions.

Is the Text / Markdown to PDF tool free?
Yes, completely free for everyone. No sign-up, no account and no usage limits.
Is it private? Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No upload, ever. The whole conversion runs in your browser with the self-hosted pdf-lib library, your text never leaves your computer and nothing is sent to a server.
Is this a real PDF or an HTML page saved as PDF?
It is a native PDF with a real text layer, built by pdf-lib with embedded Helvetica fonts. That means the text is selectable and searchable, and long documents flow onto as many extra pages as they need.
Which Markdown does it support?
Headings (# ## ###), bold with **text**, bullet lists (- or *), numbered lists (1.) and horizontal rules (---). Blank lines separate paragraphs. Anything else is treated as plain text so nothing is lost.
Does it work offline?
Yes, once the page has loaded, editing, previewing and downloading all work without a connection, because the parser and the PDF engine run locally.
