The cropped image is generated in-browser and downloaded straight to you at the source resolution. Completely free, completely private, and it works offline once the page has loaded.

§ 04 · faq

Frequently asked questions.

Is the Image Cropper free?
Yes, completely free for everyone. No sign-up, no account and no usage limits.
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. The cropper runs entirely in your browser on your own device, the image is decoded, transformed and exported locally, so your files never leave your computer.
What formats can I load and export?
You can load JPG, PNG, WebP and GIF images. The cropped result exports as PNG (lossless, with transparency) or JPG (smaller, with a white background) at the source resolution.
Does cropping reduce the image quality?
No. The on-screen stage is only a scaled preview, the export re-renders your crop from the original full-resolution pixels, so a PNG stays pixel-perfect. JPG applies its own compression at high quality.
Does it work offline?
Yes, once the page has loaded, cropping, rotating, flipping and exporting all work without a connection, because every step runs locally in your browser.
