    Exchange rates move constantly, so the figures here ship as a sensible approximate baseline (USD-based) that you can override for any pair — handy for a quick estimate, a travel budget, or a quote on a plane. Every conversion is a cross-rate through the US dollar, computed in your browser. Online refresh is optional; the tool never depends on it.

    Five steps, no manual.

    1. Enter your amount in the From field and pick your source currency from the dropdown.
    2. Choose the target currency in the To field — the result updates instantly, with the rate in both directions.
    3. Type in the To field to convert backwards, or hit the swap button to flip the pair.
    4. Optionally edit the rate by hand in the “1 X =” field, or press Update rates online for live data.
    5. Press Copy result to grab the converted amount and pair rate as a single line of text.

    Is the Currency Converter free?
    Yes — completely free for everyone. No sign-up, no account and no usage limits.
    Is it private? Is my data uploaded anywhere?
    Every conversion happens in your browser on your own device — amounts and rates never leave your computer. The only network request is the optional one you trigger yourself with “Update rates online”, which fetches public exchange rates and sends no personal data.
    Does it work offline?
    Yes. Baseline rates for 40+ currencies ship with the page, so once it has loaded you can convert, swap, edit rates and copy results without any connection. The live refresh is optional and never required.
    How accurate are the built-in rates?
    They're an approximate baseline, clearly dated below the converter — good for estimates, budgets and quotes. For exact figures, press “Update rates online” to pull live public exchange rates, or type the precise rate you were quoted into the rate field.
    Can I set my own exchange rate?
    Yes — edit the “1 X =” field under the result to set any rate for the current pair, and the conversion updates immediately. Your edited rates are saved in this browser. “Reset rate” restores the built-in value for that pair, and “Reset all rates” restores the full baseline.
    Which currencies are supported?
    45 major currencies: USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, CNY, INR, AUD, CAD, CHF and more across Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America — every pair computed as a cross-rate through the US dollar.
