§ 04 · faq

Frequently asked questions.

Is Chart Maker free?
Yes — completely free for everyone. No sign-up, no account and no usage limits.
Is it private? Is my data uploaded anywhere?
No upload, ever. The chart is painted on a canvas element in your browser on your own device — your numbers never leave your computer and no server is involved.
What chart types can I make?
Bar charts (with rounded corners and negative-value support), line charts with a gradient area fill and data-point markers, and pie or donut charts with percentage labels — the donut also shows the total in its center.
Can I paste data straight from Excel or Google Sheets?
Yes. Click Paste data and drop in two columns — tab, comma and semicolon separators are all detected automatically, a header row is skipped if its second cell isn't a number, and quoted values like “1,200” are read correctly.
How do I get the chart into my slides or document?
Click Download PNG for a crisp 2x-resolution image named after your chart title, or Copy image to place it on your clipboard and paste it straight into a slide, doc or email. If your browser blocks clipboard images, use Download instead.
Does it work offline?
Yes — once the page has loaded, everything (editing data, drawing, exporting) runs locally in your browser, so no connection is needed to keep working.
