Calendar-correct, leap-aware

An exact age isn’t “days ÷ 365”. Months have different lengths and leap years add a day, so this calculator uses true calendar borrow-math: it counts whole years, then whole months, then leftover days, the same way a passport office would. Born on 29 February? Your birthday is treated as 1 March in non-leap years. The fun lifetime numbers (heartbeats, breaths, full moons) use population averages and are rough estimates, not medical data.

Frequently asked questions.

Is the Age Calculator free?
Yes, completely free for everyone. No sign-up, no account and no usage limits.
Is it private? Is my birthday uploaded anywhere?
No upload, ever. All the math runs in your browser on your own device, the dates you enter never leave your computer, and nothing is stored.
How is the exact age calculated?
With true calendar borrow-math, not “days ÷ 365”: it counts whole years first, then whole months, then leftover days, respecting different month lengths and leap years, the same method official documents use.
What if I was born on 29 February?
Leap-day birthdays are handled correctly: in non-leap years your birthday is treated as 1 March, so the next-birthday countdown never points at a date that doesn’t exist.
Are the fun lifetime estimates accurate?
They’re rough, for-fun figures based on population averages, about 72 heartbeats and 16 breaths per minute, 8 hours of sleep per night, and the real lunar cycle of 29.53 days. They are not medical data.
Can I calculate the age gap between two people?
Yes, enter a second date of birth and you’ll see that person’s exact age plus who is older and by exactly how many years, months and days (and total days).
