Why a browser photo booth?

Most “free” photo booth apps upload your camera feed or watermark your shots. This tool uses your browser’s built-in getUserMedia and Canvas APIs, so every frame is processed on your own machine, private, install-free, and free forever. Choose a live filter, set a countdown, shoot a single frame or a burst that composes into a classic photo strip, then download as JPG or PNG. No account, nothing uploaded.

§ 02 · what you can do

Everything a photo booth should do.

  • Take instant webcam photos with a single click, no app to install.
  • Shoot 3-, 4- or 6-shot photo strips in burst mode, assembled automatically into one image.
  • Apply live filters, black & white, sepia, vintage, vivid, cool or warm, with adjustable strength.
  • Set a countdown timer of 3, 5 or 10 seconds so you have time to pose.
  • Mirror or un-mirror the preview and the captured photo independently.
  • Download photos as JPG or PNG with a custom quality setting, all saved locally, nothing uploaded.
§ 03 · how to use it

Four steps, no manual.

  1. Click Start camera and allow access, pick a specific camera and requested resolution if you like.
  2. Choose a filter and strength, set your countdown, and pick single-shot or burst-strip mode.
  3. Click Take photo (or Start burst) and pose, the shot appears in your gallery instantly.
  4. Hit JPG or PNG on any gallery card to download it. Your photos never leave your device.
§ 04 · faq

Frequently asked questions.

Is the Webcam Photo Booth free?
Yes, completely free for everyone. No sign-up, no account and no usage limits.
Is it private? Is my camera feed uploaded anywhere?
No upload, ever. The booth runs entirely in your browser using the getUserMedia and Canvas APIs, your camera feed is processed on your own device and never leaves your computer.
Do I need to install anything or create an account?
No, just open the page, click Start camera and allow access. No installation and no account are required.
Why won’t my camera start?
Camera access needs a secure context (https or localhost) and your permission. If you blocked it, click the camera icon in your browser’s address bar to allow access, then press Try again. If the camera is used by another app, close that app first.
What’s the difference between single shot and burst strip?
Single shot captures one photo. Burst mode takes several photos in a row with a chosen gap between them and stacks them into a classic vertical photo strip with an optional caption and date, and can keep the individual frames too.
Are my photos saved when I close the tab?
The gallery lives in memory only, so it clears when you close or reload the tab. Download any photos you want to keep as JPG or PNG, they save straight to your device.
