Four steps, no manual.
- Type or paste your draft into the Compose box — the counter and ring update instantly using X’s weighted rules.
- Click Split into thread to break a long post into numbered tweets. Each card is editable with its own counter.
- Use the Live preview panel to see the post as a real X card — switch light / dark and set your handle, time and engagement numbers.
- Click Copy whole thread or Download .txt to save your result, then paste it straight into X.

Is the X / Tweet Preview tool free?
Yes — completely free for everyone. No sign-up, no account and no usage limits.
Is it private? Is my text uploaded anywhere?
No upload, ever. The tool runs entirely in your browser on your own device, so your draft never leaves your computer and nothing is sent to a server.
How does the character count match X?
It uses X’s weighted rules: every URL always counts as 23 characters no matter its real length, and most emoji and CJK (Chinese, Japanese, Korean) characters count as 2 while Latin letters and common punctuation count as 1. The 280-character limit is measured against that weighted total.
How does the thread splitter decide where to break?
It packs whole sentences into each tweet first, falling back to word boundaries and only ever splitting mid-word for a single token that is longer than the limit on its own. When (1/n) numbering is on, it reserves room for the counter so no tweet spills over 280.
Does it work offline, and does it post to X for me?
Once the page has loaded it keeps working without a connection, because all logic runs locally. It never posts on your behalf — it only helps you compose, count and preview; you copy the result and paste it into X yourself.
