A note on saving audio

Web Speech plays through your system's voices locally — nothing is uploaded. The browser's speech API only plays audio; it doesn't expose a way to capture it to a file, so there's no download here (we won't fake one). If you need an audio file, use a screen or audio recorder while it plays.

  4. Use Pause, Resume or Stop at any point — nothing is ever uploaded.
§ 04 · faq

Frequently asked questions.

Is Text to Speech free?
Yes — completely free for everyone. No sign-up, no account and no usage limits.
Is it private? Is my text uploaded anywhere?
No upload, ever. The tool runs entirely in your browser and uses your device's own voices — your text never leaves your computer.
Does it work offline?
Yes — once the page has loaded, reading works without a connection, because the system voices and all logic run locally on your device.
Can I download the audio as an MP3 or WAV file?
No. The browser's Web Speech API only plays audio through your system — it doesn't expose a way to capture that audio to a file. If you need a recording, use a screen or audio recorder while the text plays.
Why don't I see many voices, or none at all?
The available voices come from your operating system and browser, not from us. Install additional language or accessibility voices in your OS settings, then reload the page — they'll appear in the dropdown grouped by language.
Do I need to install anything or create an account?
No. Just open the page and start using it. There's nothing to install and no account to create — the reader uses voices your device already has.
