§ 02 · what you can do

Everything the summarizer does.

Summarize any textPaste a plain-text article, essay or report — no file upload needed, and it works on anything from a paragraph to a long document.
Control the lengthKeep a percentage of the original sentences with a slider, or set an exact number of sentences to pull out.
Paragraph or bulletsSwitch the output between flowing paragraphs (grouped by their source paragraph) and a clean bullet list with one click.
Boost your keywordsEnter the words you care about and any sentence containing them ranks higher, so the summary leans toward your topic.
See live statsOriginal words and sentences, summary words and sentences, and a reduction percentage all update as you edit.
Copy or downloadCopy the summary to your clipboard or download it as a plain .txt file — instantly and privately.
§ 03 · how to use it

Four steps, no manual.

  1. Paste your text into the Original text box — or click Load sample to try an example article.
  2. Choose a summary length: a percentage of the sentences with the slider, or a fixed sentence count.
  3. Pick paragraph or bullet output, and optionally type keyword boost terms to steer the result toward your topic.
  4. Copy or download the summary. Your text never leaves your device.
§ 04 · faq

Frequently asked questions.

Is the Text Summarizer free?
Yes — completely free for everyone. No sign-up, no account and no usage limits.
Is it private? Is my text uploaded anywhere?
No upload, ever. The summarizer runs entirely in your browser on your own device — the text you paste never leaves your computer and nothing is sent to a server.
Does it work offline?
Yes — once the page has loaded, summarizing, adjusting length and copying all work without a connection, because every bit of logic runs locally in your browser.
How does it choose which sentences to keep?
It scores every sentence by the frequency of its meaningful words (common stopwords are ignored), gives a small bump to opening sentences and any that contain your boost keywords, then keeps the top-ranked sentences in their original order.
Does it rewrite or paraphrase the text?
No. This is an extractive summarizer — it selects and reorders the most important original sentences without changing their wording. That keeps it fast, private and faithful to the source, but it won't reword sentences the way a large language model would.
What length should I choose?
For a quick gist, keep around 15–25% of the sentences or set 3–5 sentences. For a fuller digest of a long report, raise the percentage. Watch the reduction stat to keep the summary meaningfully shorter than the source.
