Speech to Text. Your words, appearing live.

Dictate in 30+ languages and watch the transcript build word by word, then edit, copy or download it. Recognition runs through your browser's own speech engine — nothing is uploaded to us.

Honest note: Digital Heroes never sees or stores your audio or text, but speech recognition itself is done by your browser/OS built-in speech service (e.g. Chrome may process audio on Google’s servers). If you need fully offline dictation, use your OS’s native dictation feature.

Tips for better accuracy

Speak clearly at a normal pace, pick the exact locale you speak (e.g. English, India vs English, US), and use a headset mic if you can. Recognition pauses on silence — with auto-restart on, it picks back up automatically so long dictation sessions keep flowing.

§ 02 · what you can do

Everything a dictation tool should do.

  • Live voice-to-text transcription in 30+ languages and locales, with real-time interim results as you speak.
  • Continuous dictation with auto-restart, so long sessions keep flowing even when recognition pauses on silence.
  • Timestamp each result to build time-coded notes or meeting logs, and auto-capitalize sentences for you.
  • Edit the transcript freely in the text area before saving, with a live word and character count.
  • Copy or download your finished transcript as a plain .txt file with one click.
  • Private by construction: your text is never uploaded to Digital Heroes, and no sign-up is needed.
§ 03 · how to use it

  1. Open this tool in Chrome or Edge — no sign-up needed.
  2. Pick your language and locale from the dropdown (for example, English: India vs. English: US).
  3. Set your options: continuous mode, timestamps, separator style and auto-capitalize.
  4. Click Start dictating, allow microphone access, and speak at a normal pace.
  5. Watch the live transcript appear, edit it directly, then Copy text or Download .txt to save.
§ 04 · faq

Frequently asked questions.

Is Speech to Text free?
Yes — completely free for everyone. No sign-up, no account and no usage limits.
Is it private? Is my audio uploaded anywhere?
Digital Heroes never sees or stores your audio or text. Recognition is handled by your browser’s built-in speech service (for example, Chrome may process audio on Google’s servers). Your transcript text stays on your device.
Does it work offline?
The page and UI load offline, but speech recognition itself usually needs an internet connection because the browser’s speech engine contacts an online service. Fully offline dictation requires your OS’s native dictation feature.
Do I need to install anything or create an account?
No. Just open the page in a supported browser and click Start dictating. No account or installation required.
Which browsers support this tool?
The Web Speech API works best in the latest Chrome or Edge on desktop and Android. Firefox does not ship it yet, and the tool will show a notice if your browser can’t run it.
