How to use the Custom Software Preview Tool

This tool shows a clickable prototype of business software, from an ERP or CRM to a POS, helpdesk or online store, so you can see the screens before you plan a build. Pick one of 26 systems and the frame fills with sample data you can click through, then restyle it with themes, fonts and corner styles. It suits founders and managers who want something concrete to react to before they write requirements.

Step by step

  1. Pick a system

Click one of the 26 buttons, grouped under Operations & back office, Sales & customers, People & teams, Data & AI and Products & platforms. ERP is shown when the page opens. The frame redraws with that system's modules, numbers and records.

  2. Click around inside the app

Use the sidebar inside the frame to open each module, plus Add-ons and Settings at the bottom. On the dashboard, switch the main chart between Week, Month and Quarter. Click a table row to open its record panel, the bell for notifications, and New for an entry form.

  3. Search and filter records

In a list module, type in the search box at the top of the frame to filter the rows as you type, or click a status chip, or All, to narrow the list. The panel title shows how many records match.

  4. Restyle it

In the panel beside the frame, pick a Theme (Moss, Midnight, Ocean, Graphite, Sunset, Royal, Rose or Terminal), a Heading font, a Body font and the Corners style: Soft, Crisp or Sharp. Changes apply at once and stay as you switch systems.

  5. Check it on a phone

Under the frame, Preview on switches between Desktop, Android and iOS. The phone views use a narrow layout with an icon only sidebar, the way the app would sit on a small screen.

  6. Let it play

Press Auto tour to step through the themes every couple of seconds, moving to the next system on every third step. Press Stop tour to end it. Left alone, the frame also moves through a few screens by itself after about nine seconds, and it pauses while you hover, touch or type.

What the preview shows

  • All names, companies and figures are made up sample data written into the page. They do not come from any real business or account.
  • Buttons that would act on real data only show a short message. Save in the New form, Take action in a record, Export and CSV do not store, send or download anything.
  • The page address updates to match what you picked, for example #crm or #crm/ios, so copying the link reopens the same system and device. Theme, fonts and corners are not part of the link.

Tips and common mistakes

  • Use the preview to decide what you want on screen: which modules, which numbers on the dashboard and which statuses in each list. That list is more useful in a planning conversation than a color choice.
  • Try the Midnight, Graphite or Terminal themes to judge a dark interface, and Sharp corners for a denser, more formal look.
  • To show a specific system to a colleague, pick it, choose a device under Preview on, then copy the page address.
  • If the screen changes while you are reading, move the pointer over the frame or tap it; the automatic rotation pauses while you interact.

Privacy and limits

The prototype runs entirely in your browser on sample data, so nothing you click, type or save leaves your device, and nothing is stored. The tool itself makes no network requests; the page only loads its extra display fonts from Google Fonts when it opens.

What you just played with

A preview of a custom build, not a template.

Every screen in the preview above, the ERP dashboard, the CRM pipeline, the warehouse picker view, is a starting sketch of software Digital Heroes builds from scratch. Off-the-shelf tools make you bend your process to their template. A custom build starts the other way: we map how your team actually works, then ship a system shaped to it, with a first working release in about six weeks.

The theme switcher is the point, not a gimmick. Design is a decision you get to make when you own the software: your brand colors, your typography, your information density, your one-screen-per-job layouts. The same applies under the hood, to your fields, your approval chains, your reports, your integrations.

Wondering what a build costs before you talk to anyone? Run your numbers through the software development cost calculator, or read build vs. buy to decide whether custom is even the right call for you.

Questions

Before the call.

Is this a real working product?

It is a live visual preview, not the finished software. When we build your system, the modules, fields, workflows and reports come from your actual operation, scoped on a 30-minute call.

Which types of software can I preview?

26 types: ERP, CRM, inventory management, accounting, warehouse management (WMS), supply chain, BI dashboards, POS, booking, field service, helpdesk, HR, project management, LMS, custom software, SaaS, MVP, AI integration, API integration, e-commerce, Shopify, mobile apps, web apps, websites, WordPress and internal tools.

How much does a build like this cost?

Most business-software builds land between about $50k and $150k on a fixed scope. You get a clear price and timeline within 48 hours of the scoping call, and a first working release in about six weeks. For a number now, try the cost calculator.

Can I really choose the design?

Yes, that is the design phase in miniature. Your build ships with your brand colors, fonts and layout, and you own all of it.

Do I own the code?

Fully, from day one. No per-seat licence, no platform lock-in, no rented software.

What happens after I find a combination I like?

Book a 30-minute scoping call and describe the system and style you landed on. You get a named senior team, a fixed scope and a clear quote within 48 hours.
