Five steps, no manual.

- To go the other way, click Morse → Text and paste Morse code into the input.
- Optionally customise the dot, dash and separator symbols to match the notation you need.
- Hit Play Morse to hear the beeps — tune speed, tone and volume, or flip on the screen flash.

Frequently asked questions.
Is the Morse Code Translator free?
Yes — completely free for everyone. No sign-up, no account and no usage limits.
Is it private? Is my text uploaded anywhere?
No. The translator runs entirely in your browser on your own device — your text is translated and played locally, and nothing is ever sent to a server.
Does the audio playback work offline?
Yes. Once the page has loaded, both translation and the beep player keep working without a connection — the audio is generated on the fly with the Web Audio API, not streamed.
Can I change the dot and dash symbols?
Yes. Set your own dot, dash, letter-separator and word-separator characters. Both the translation and the reference chart update to match, and decoding recognises common variants like bullets and en-dashes automatically.
What speed and tone does it use?
Timing follows the PARIS standard — one dit lasts 1.2 ÷ WPM seconds. You can set speed from 5 to 40 WPM, tone from 400 to 1000 Hz, and volume anywhere in between.
What happens to characters that have no Morse code?
Letters, digits and common punctuation translate directly. Anything outside the Morse alphabet is skipped with a small notice, and unrecognised code sequences show as a “¿” placeholder when decoding, so you always know what was dropped.
