Little and often beats long and rare

Mental arithmetic is a muscle: a two-minute drill a day does more than an hour once a month. Tune the difficulty to exactly the right level — times tables 2–12 for school practice, three-digit sums for adults — and let the instant feedback do the teaching. Drills that fit your level.

  • Choose your operations — any mix of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
  • Set custom number ranges per operation: times tables 2–12 for kids, three-digit sums for adults. Division answers are always whole numbers.
  • Pick a round format: 10, 20 or 50 counted questions, or a 60-second or 120-second timed sprint.
  • Get instant feedback after every answer — the correct answer is shown on misses, and a streak counter keeps you honest.
  • Review every wrong answer at the end of the round, then copy or download the results as plain text.
  • Beat your personal best for each setup — saved privately on your device, no account needed.
§ 03 · how to use it

Five steps, no manual.

  1. Tick the operations you want and set the number ranges for each — for subtraction you can allow negative answers.
  2. Choose a round format: 10, 20 or 50 questions, or a 60- or 120-second timed sprint.
  3. Press Start practising, type your answer and hit Enter (or click Check). Stuck? Use Skip — it counts as a miss.
  4. Watch your score and streak climb; wrong answers show the correct result immediately.
  5. After the round, review your misses, compare against your saved best, then copy or download the results.

Frequently asked questions.

Is Math Practice free?
Yes — completely free for everyone. No sign-up, no account, no ads and no usage limits.
Is it private? Is anything uploaded?
No upload, ever. Questions are generated, checked and scored entirely in your browser on your own device — answers and scores never leave your computer.
Does it work offline?
Yes — once the page has loaded, every round is generated and scored locally, so practising keeps working without a connection.
How are personal bests saved?
Each combination of operations and round format keeps its own best score, stored in this browser only. Bests are ranked by correct answers, then accuracy, then average speed — clearing site data removes them.
Is it suitable for kids?
Yes. Set gentle ranges (say, numbers 1–10 and times tables 2–5), leave negative answers off, and the encouraging feedback does the rest. Adults can crank the ranges up to three-digit arithmetic.
