The Image Compare Slider letterboxes both pictures into a common frame and lets you scrub a divider across them — drag with the mouse or use the arrow keys. Switch to crossfade to blend them at any ratio, or side-by-side for a classic comparison card, then export the exact view as a high-resolution PNG. Everything renders locally in your browser. No upload, no watermark, completely free.

§ 02 · what you can do

Everything a comparison should do.

  • Drag a before/after slider across two images to reveal the difference at any position — mouse or arrow keys.
  • Crossfade between images with an opacity slider to blend them at any ratio.
  • View side by side in a vertical or horizontal layout, with an adjustable gap.
  • Edit the “Before” and “After” labels and choose whether they appear in the export.
  • Export a full-resolution PNG of the current view or a clean side-by-side card — or copy it straight to the clipboard.
  • Letterbox mismatched sizes automatically so any two images can be compared fairly.
§ 03 · how to use it

Four steps, no manual.

  1. Drop your before image on the left box and your after image on the right — or drop both files at once on either box.
  2. Choose a view mode: Slider, Crossfade, or Side-by-side, then set the orientation.
  3. Adjust the divider position, labels and colors until the comparison reads the way you want.
  4. Click Download view PNG to export the current view, or Side-by-side PNG for a clean comparison card.

Frequently asked questions.

Is the Image Compare Slider free?
Yes — completely free for everyone. No sign-up, no account and no usage limits.
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. The tool runs entirely in your browser on your own device — your images never leave your computer and nothing is sent to a server.
Can I compare two images that are different sizes?
Yes. Mismatched images are letterboxed into a shared frame automatically, so the comparison stays aligned. You can choose a transparent, white, black or cream letterbox fill.
What resolution is the exported PNG?
Exports render at the full resolution of the larger source image, not the on-screen preview. The export dimensions are shown below the buttons so you know exactly what you'll get.
Does it work offline?
Yes — once the page has loaded, comparing images and exporting works without a connection because all logic runs locally in your browser.
