Hide emails, tokens or faces with a blur or pixelate region. The redaction is baked into the exported pixels, not a removable overlay.

Add multi-line text labels at any font size, sketch freehand with the pen, or sweep a translucent highlighter that multiplies like a real marker.
Crop, zoom, undo & redo

Four steps, no manual.
- Drop an image onto the box, click to browse, or press Ctrl+V to paste a screenshot, it never leaves your device.
- Pick a tool from the toolbar (or its keyboard shortcut), arrow, box, text, badge, highlighter, blur, then draw on the image.
- Refine anything: switch to Select to move or restyle objects, change color and width, crop or zoom, and undo/redo freely.
- Export as a PNG or JPG, or copy to your clipboard. Turn on Remember session to keep it in this browser.

Frequently asked questions.
Is the Image Annotator free?
Yes, completely free for everyone. No sign-up, no account and no usage limits.
Is it private? Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No upload, ever. The annotator runs entirely in your browser on your own device, so your image and annotations never leave your computer and nothing is sent to a server.
Is the blur or pixelate actually removable from the exported file?
No. When you download or copy, the blur and pixelate regions are baked directly into the exported pixels, the original detail underneath is destroyed, not just visually covered. That makes it safe for redacting emails, tokens, faces and other sensitive information.
Can I edit or move an annotation after I draw it?
Yes. Every arrow, box, badge, stroke and text label is an editable object. Switch to the Select tool to drag it, change its color or width, delete it, or double-click a text label to re-edit the words. Undo and redo work on everything (Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Y).
Will I lose my work if I close the tab?
By default nothing is stored, closing the tab clears the image. If you tick Remember session, the current image and annotations are saved in this browser only (never uploaded) and reload next time. Untick it or clear site data to remove them.
Which formats can I export to?
Full-resolution PNG (lossless, transparent-friendly) or JPG with an adjustable quality slider. You can also copy the annotated image directly to your clipboard in browsers that support it, then paste it into chat, email or a doc.
