Deterministic by design
The same name always produces the same avatar: the text is hashed, and that hash seeds the colors, identicon cells and abstract shapes. Is the Avatar Generator free?
Yes, completely free for everyone. No sign-up, no account and no usage limits.
Is it private? Are the names I type uploaded anywhere?
No upload, ever. Every avatar is rendered on a local canvas in your browser, so the names and text you type never leave your device, even for batch ZIP export.
Does the same name always give the same avatar?
Yes. The text is hashed and that hash seeds the colors, identicon cells and abstract shapes, so a given name is fully deterministic, ideal for stable default profile pictures in apps, CRMs and team pages. (The Shuffle button in Abstract mode lets you step through named variants.)
What's the difference between PNG and SVG export?
PNG is a fixed-resolution image (64-1024 px) that's easy to drop anywhere. SVG is vector, so it scales to any size without blurring and can be edited or themed in code, use Copy SVG to paste the markup directly into your project.
How do I generate avatars for a whole team at once?
Paste one name per line into the Batch box, click Generate batch to preview, then Download ZIP. Every avatar uses the mode and styling you set above; tick "Include SVG files" to get both PNG and SVG for each name.
Does it work offline?
Yes, once the page has loaded, generating, previewing and exporting all run locally, so it keeps working without a connection.
