GPA calculator. Every credit, weighted right.

Add courses with credit hours and letter grades on the 4.0 scale, a live weighted GPA per semester and a cumulative GPA across every term. Saved only in your browser, nothing uploaded.

A free online tool by Digital Heroes

Everything is calculated on your device, nothing is uploaded or saved to any server. Your courses are remembered in this browser only.

Grade scale (4.0)

GPA = Σ (grade points × credit hours) ÷ Σ credit hours. Pass / No-credit courses are excluded from the average.

The weighted average, done for you

A GPA is not a plain average, a 4-credit calculus course moves it more than a 1-credit lab. This calculator multiplies each grade's point value by its credit hours, sums the quality points, and divides by the graded credits, exactly the way registrars do it. Plus and minus grades carry their real values (an A− is 3.7, a B+ is 3.3), Pass courses count toward earned credits without touching the average, and every keystroke recalculates the semester and cumulative numbers instantly. No account, nothing uploaded, free forever.

§ 02 · what you can do

Everything a GPA tool should do.

  • Calculate weighted GPA from any mix of courses, credit hours and letter grades, updated live as you type.
  • Track multiple semesters and see a running cumulative GPA across all terms, plus per-semester scores.
  • Use + and − grades (A−, B+, C−, …) with their precise 4.0-scale point values.
  • Add Pass / No-credit courses that count toward total credits but are excluded from the GPA average.
  • Rename semesters and add or remove courses at any time, everything recalculates instantly.
  • Keep your data private: courses are stored only in this browser; nothing is sent to any server.

§ 04 · faq

Frequently asked questions.

Is the GPA Calculator free?
Yes, completely free for everyone. No sign-up, no account and no usage limits.
Is it private? Are my grades uploaded anywhere?
No upload, ever. The calculator runs entirely in your browser on your own device, your courses and grades never leave your computer.
How is the GPA calculated?
It is a weighted average: each grade's point value is multiplied by the course's credit hours, the quality points are summed, and the total is divided by the graded credit hours. Pass and No-credit courses count toward total credits but are excluded from the average, and incomplete rows are skipped.
What grade scale does it use?
The standard US 4.0 scale with plus/minus steps: A = 4.0, A− = 3.7, B+ = 3.3, B = 3.0, and so on down to F = 0.0, plus P (Pass) and NP (No credit) options that carry no grade points.
Will I lose my courses if I close the tab?
No, they are saved in this browser automatically and reload when you come back. Clearing your browser's site data removes them, since nothing is stored on a server.
Does it work offline?
Yes, once the page has loaded, all the math runs locally, so adding courses and recalculating works without a connection.
