- Filter by month to review a specific period without losing your full history, and pick from ten currency symbols.
- Export a CSV file of the transactions in view for Excel, Google Sheets, or any spreadsheet app.
§ 03 · how to use it
Five steps, no manual.
- Open the tracker — no sign-up or installation needed, and pick your currency symbol.
- Choose Expense or Income with the toggle, then pick a category or add a custom one.
- Enter the amount, date, and an optional note, then click Add transaction (or just press Enter).
- Watch the balance, income, and expense totals update, and see the category donut chart fill in.
- Use the month filter to review a specific period, then click Export CSV to save a copy.

Frequently asked questions.
Is the Expense Tracker free?
Yes — completely free for everyone. No sign-up, no account and no usage limits.
Is it private? Is my money data uploaded anywhere?
No upload, ever. The tracker runs entirely in your browser on your own device — every transaction stays in your browser's local storage and never touches a server.
Does it work offline?
Yes — once the page has loaded, everything (adding transactions, the chart, filtering, CSV export) works without a connection, because all logic runs locally.
Will I lose my transactions if I close the tab?
No — they're saved in this browser automatically and reload when you come back. Clearing site data removes them, so use Export CSV for a backup you control.
Can I change the currency?
Yes — pick from ten symbols (USD, EUR, GBP, INR, JPY, AUD, CAD, CHF, SEK, BRL). It changes the display symbol everywhere; amounts are not converted between currencies.
What does the CSV export include?
Date, type, category, signed amount and note for every transaction in the current view — so the month filter is respected. The file opens directly in Excel or Google Sheets.
