One color, every format

Designers think in HEX, CSS wants RGB or HSL, print needs CMYK, and color pickers love HSV. Drop a color in once and copy whichever notation your tool expects — accurate, instant, and 100% local. Edit any field and the rest follow.

§ 03 · how to use it

Five steps, no manual.

  1. Pick a color with the color picker or paste any HEX, rgb(), rgba() or hsl() string into the input.
  2. Read all five formats instantly and hit Copy next to the one your tool expects.
  3. Fine-tune by editing the HEX, RGB or HSL rows directly — everything else recalculates as you type.
  4. Drag the Alpha slider for transparency — the 8-digit HEX, rgba() and hsla() values update live over a checkerboard preview.
  5. Click a chip in the tints & shades ramp to copy a lighter or darker variant of your color.
§ 04 · faq

Frequently asked questions.

Is the Color Converter free?
Yes — completely free for everyone. No sign-up, no account and no usage limits.
Is it private? Is my color data uploaded anywhere?
No upload, ever. Every conversion runs entirely in your browser on your own device — nothing is sent to a server.
Which color formats does it support?
Input: HEX in 3, 4, 6 or 8-digit form (with or without the #), rgb(), rgba() — including percentage channels — hsl() and hsla(). Output: HEX (8-digit when alpha is set), RGB or RGBA, HSL or HSLA, HSV and CMYK.
Does it handle transparency (alpha)?
Yes. Use the Alpha slider, or paste a 4/8-digit HEX, rgba() or hsla() value and the alpha is picked up automatically. The swatch shows semi-transparent colors over a checkerboard, and the HEX, RGB and HSL outputs switch to their alpha forms.
How accurate is the CMYK value?
It's the standard mathematical RGB-to-CMYK conversion — great as a reference, but it doesn't apply an ICC printing profile. For production print work, do the final conversion in your design software with the printer's profile.
Does it work offline?
Yes — once the page has loaded, all parsing, converting and copying happens locally, so it keeps working without a connection.
