How to use the Bingo Card Generator

This generator turns your own word list, or classic bingo numbers, into a set of printable bingo cards. Each card is shuffled on its own with your browser's crypto.getRandomValues, so every player gets a different layout. Use it for classrooms, parties, meeting buzzword games or a family number night.

Step by step

   Choose what goes in the cells

   Under Cell content, pick My words to use your own list, or Numbers 1-75 for classic number bingo. In number mode each column draws from its own block of 15 numbers: 1 to 15, then 16 to 30, and so on.

   Type your list

   In My words mode, enter one word or phrase per line in the Words / phrases box. Blank lines are skipped and repeated lines are removed, ignoring capital letters. The counter under the box shows how many items you have and how many one card needs.

   Pick the grid and the number of cards

   Under Grid size, choose 3×3, 4×4 or 5×5. The default is 5×5. Set Number of cards anywhere from 1 to 30. The default is 6, and anything outside that range is pulled back to the nearest limit.

   Set the title and extras

   Card title prints across the top of each card, up to 50 characters, and starts as BINGO Night. Leave Free center square checked to fill the middle cell with the label in the box below it, FREE by default, up to 12 characters. B-I-N-G-O column letters is checked by default and prints the letters over a 5×5 grid. Pick an Accent colour for the title, letters, border and free square.

   Generate the cards

   Press Generate cards. The cards appear below the options. If you do not like the layouts, press Reshuffle all to shuffle every card again with the same settings.

   Print or download

   Use the Print: menu to choose 1 card / page or 2 cards / page, then press Print. Only the cards are printed. Press PNG ↓ under any card to save that one card, or Download ZIP of PNGs to save the whole set in one file.

Reading the result

• The line above the cards sums up the batch, for example 6 cards · 5×5 · 24 words. In number mode the last part shows the number range instead of a word count.
• A 5×5 card needs 25 items, or 24 with the free center square on. A 4×4 card needs 16 and a 3×3 card needs 9, or 8 with the free square.
• If your list is too short, an amber note says how many more lines you need and no cards are made. If you have at most two more items than one card needs, a different note warns that the cards will share most of their words in a different order.
• Every card carries Card 1 of 6 style numbering at the bottom, so you can keep track of a printed set.
• In number mode a smaller grid uses fewer number blocks. A 3×3 card uses 1 to 45 and a 4×4 card uses 1 to 60.

Tips and common mistakes

• Add several more words than one card needs. With a long list each card gets a different mix of words, not just the same words in a new order.
• The free center square only works on 3×3 and 5×5 grids. On a 4×4 grid there is no center cell, so the option is grayed out.
• Keep phrases short. Long phrases are shrunk and wrapped to fit, and anything past three lines in a cell is cut off.
• Choose a dark accent color if you print in black and white. Light colors can fade to almost nothing on paper.
• Use 2 cards / page to save paper. Each card is then printed at about half the page width.

Privacy and limits

Your list, the shuffling and the card images are all handled by your browser. Nothing is uploaded and nothing is saved, so reloading the page clears your list. The ZIP is built in the page itself, with no extra library or server. Each card is drawn as a PNG image 1200 pixels wide.
