A real audio editor that never phones home

Most online audio trimmers upload your file to a server to cut it. This one decodes your audio with the browser’s native Web Audio API, edits the raw samples in memory, and writes the WAV header itself. Your recording stays entirely on your device. Trim a region, fade the edges, normalize the loudness, reverse it, then download a crisp, library-free WAV.

§ 02 · what you can do

Everything a trimmer should do.

Trim to a selectionDrag a region on the waveform, then cut everything outside it in one click.
Fade in & outApply a smooth linear fade over any selected portion of the clip.
Adjust gain in dBBoost or reduce volume from 0-300% and see the change in decibels before applying.
Normalize loudnessScale the clip so its loudest peak sits just under full scale, in one click.
Reverse the clipFlip the whole recording end-to-end for creative or diagnostic use.
Record from your micCapture live audio with a level meter, then edit the take without leaving the page.
§ 03 · how to use it

  1. Drop an audio file onto the upload zone (or click to browse) , MP3, WAV, OGG or M4A. Or click Record from mic to capture live audio.

§ 04 · faq

Frequently asked questions.

Is the Audio Trimmer & Editor free?
Yes , completely free for everyone. No sign-up, no account and no usage limits.
Is it private? Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No upload, ever. The editor runs entirely in your browser on your own device. Your file is decoded, edited and re-encoded to WAV locally , it never leaves your computer.
What audio formats can I import, and what does it export?
You can import any format your browser can decode , typically MP3, WAV, OGG and M4A. Export is always a 16-bit PCM WAV file, which plays anywhere and is written by the tool itself with no external library.
Can I record straight from my microphone?
Yes. Click Record from mic, grant microphone permission, and a level meter shows your input. Click stop and the recording loads straight into the editor, ready to trim and export.
Will an edit destroy my original file?
No. The file on disk is never touched , all edits happen on an in-memory copy. Reset to original restores the clip to how it was first decoded, and you only get a new file when you click Download WAV.
Does it work offline?
Yes , once the page has loaded, decoding, editing and WAV export all run locally, so the tool keeps working without a connection.
