Image to ASCII art. Pixels in, characters out.
Turn any photo into text art with a brightness-to-character ramp. Tune the width, character set and color, then copy or download the result, everything runs in your browser, nothing is uploaded.
A free online tool by Digital HeroesMore columns = more detail, larger output.
Pixels in, characters out. All on your device.
Each block of the image is averaged to a brightness value and mapped to a character, with denser glyphs for darker areas. Because monospace characters are taller than they are wide, the height is scaled so your art keeps the right proportions. Copy the text anywhere, save a plain .txt, or render a crisp PNG. Your photo never leaves the browser.
