This checker answers a narrow question honestly: does the address have a supported shape, and does its domain publish evidence that it accepts mail? It also flags disposable providers, role mailboxes, administrative addresses, likely typos and stable duplicates. It cannot prove that one named mailbox exists, so every row keeps Mailbox: not checked until a separate mailbox-verification service supplies that evidence.

Up to 500 logical rows and a 1 MiB UTF-8 .csv or .txt file per run. Oversized inputs are rejected rather than silently truncated.

What does each check do?
  • Syntax. Common unquoted ASCII mailbox shapes are checked. Quoted and SMTPUTF8 local parts are labelled unsupported, not falsely invalid. Internationalised domains are converted to punycode.
  • Mail routing. Cloudflare DNS-over-HTTPS is queried first, with Google as fallback. Explicit MX records pass; a sole null MX fails. If MX is absent, A and AAAA implicit routing are checked.
  • Transient DNS. Timeout, SERVFAIL, REFUSED and malformed responses become DNS retry or manual review, never a false invalid.
  • Address type. Named, role, automated and administrative/abuse mailboxes are kept separate. Administrative addresses are not called spam traps.
  • SPF and DMARC. Optional recipient-domain context only. Presence or absence never changes domain hygiene or mailbox status.
  • Deduplication. Gmail dots and plus tags are canonicalised. Plus tags on other domains remain distinct because their semantics are provider-specific.

Privacy: full addresses stay in this browser tab and are not sent to a Digital Heroes server. Cloudflare or Google receives the queried domain plus ordinary network metadata such as your IP and request origin; the local part is not sent in DNS requests. Analytics, session recording, chat, translation, external fonts and map embeds are disabled on this page.

Email verifier FAQ

Is this email verifier really free?
Yes. There is no signup, credit system or paid tier. Domain checks run in your browser against public DNS resolvers.
Does my email list get uploaded anywhere?
The full addresses stay in the browser and are never posted to Digital Heroes. DNS requests disclose only the domain to Cloudflare or Google, along with normal connection metadata. The page deliberately loads no analytics, session recorder, chat or third-party fonts.
Can it confirm that one specific mailbox exists?
No. Browser DNS proves domain routing, not whether a named recipient exists. Every result therefore exports mailbox_verification_status as not_checked.
What is a catch-all domain?
A catch-all can accept mail for any local part and decide what to do later. DNS cannot identify catch-all behavior, so this tool never claims a catch-all result.
Why does a real address sometimes require review?
Review is not a claim that the address is false. It marks role mailboxes, free consumer accounts on a B2B list, privacy relays, likely typos or invalid MX configurations that need human judgement.
Does SPF or DMARC affect the result?
No. The optional checkbox displays recipient-domain security context only. Missing SPF or DMARC does not prove that a mailbox is risky, abandoned or invalid.
How many addresses can I check at once?
Five hundred logical data rows per run. Repeated domains are cached within that run, and output order always follows input order even when DNS replies arrive out of order.
