§ 02 · overview

What these packages cover.

Shopify theme work comes in two kinds, and these packages keep them apart. Basic and Standard customize the theme your store already runs, such as Dawn, Horizon or a paid Theme Store theme: new sections, template changes, speed and accessibility work. Premium is a custom theme built from an empty repository, with its own design system and section library. Each card lists what the package includes, so you can check the delivered work against it.

Every section we build carries theme editor settings, so your team can change copy, images and layout from the Shopify admin without calling a developer. Accessibility checks against WCAG 2.2 AA and Core Web Vitals checks are part of every package, scaled to the work in it. Digital Heroes is a Shopify Select Partner, rated 5.0 from 66 verified reviews on Clutch (checked 13 October 2026).

§ 04 · scope

What is not included, and what we need from you.

Not included

  • Your Shopify plan, any paid Theme Store theme license and app subscriptions. You pay these to Shopify or the app developer, not to us.
  • Checkout changes. Shopify customizes checkout through checkout extensions rather than the theme, so that is a separate service.
  • Custom Shopify apps, Shopify Functions and back office integrations such as an ERP or warehouse sync.
  • A headless storefront on Hydrogen. That is a different build with its own scope.
  • Moving your store from another platform. Migration is a separate package.
  • Product data entry, product photography and copywriting for your pages.
  • A copy of another brand's storefront design.
  • Ongoing theme work after the 30 days of support. That runs as a maintenance plan or theme retainer, agreed separately.
  • Paid ads, SEO campaigns and email marketing.

What we need from you

  • Staff or collaborator access to your Shopify store, with permission to edit themes.
  • A GitHub organization or account to hold the theme code.
  • Your brand guidelines: logo files, colors, fonts and any existing design files.
  • A written list of the sections and pages you want changed or built, with examples you like.
  • Copy, images and video for the new sections, or placeholders until they are ready.
  • A list of the apps installed in your store and which ones you still use.
  • One decision maker who reviews the work and gives feedback each week.
  • For Premium: your written approval of the designs before Liquid development starts.
§ · how delivery works

From payment to handover.

Every package follows the same five steps. The scope changes from Basic to Premium; the order does not.

  1. step 01
    Pay at checkout

You pay the package price in full through Stripe's secure checkout. If you would rather pay a deposit before work starts and then payments at agreed milestones, book a call instead and we set that up with you.

  2. step 02
    Kickoff call

Every order gets an email reply within 24 hours to book the kickoff call. On that call we confirm the scope of your package in writing. Work starts after it.

  3. step 03
    Build

Your project is delivered remotely by our engineers in Delhi and Lucknow, with leadership in New York. The delivery estimate for your package is on its card above. It is an estimate, not a deadline: your dates are confirmed in writing at the kickoff call.

  4. step 04
    Review and revisions

You review the work as it is delivered. Your package card says how revisions are handled: where it says they are agreed in writing, the rounds are set in the written scope at the kickoff call.

  5. step 05
    Handover

The finished work goes live or is handed over in the way agreed at the kickoff call.

Basic and Standard work on the theme your store already runs. Premium starts from an empty repository. If the kickoff call shows your brief fits a different package better, we tell you before any work starts.

All work happens on a draft theme in your own store, connected to a GitHub repository under your organization. Your live storefront keeps selling on its current theme until you approve the new version and it is published. Shopify then moves the previous theme to your draft themes, so it is still there if you need it.

The delivery ranges come from our Shopify theme customization page: three to five weeks for work on an existing theme, seven to twelve weeks for a theme built from scratch. Where your project lands depends on the scope confirmed at the kickoff call, the number of templates in play and how quickly content and feedback come back.

§ · payment and refunds

Payment and refund terms.

Paid in full at checkout

Package prices are in US dollars and are charged in full at checkout. Stripe hosts the payment page, so your card details are entered on Stripe and never reach this site.

Prefer milestones?

For fixed-scope work we also bill a deposit before work starts, then payments at agreed milestones. To pay that way, book a call instead of checking out.

What the price covers

The package price is the total you pay us. We add no tax, fee or surcharge at checkout, and the amount Stripe charges is the price on the package card. It pays for our work only. Fees that other companies bill you directly, such as platform plans, app subscriptions, hosting, domains, store registration fees and payment processing on your own sales, are not part of it: the ones this package can involve are listed under not included. Your card issuer may charge its own fee for a payment in US dollars.

Refunds and cancellation

Our refund and cancellation policy applies to every package. You can cancel by written notice at any time: we stop work, deliver everything completed up to that point, and you pay for the work completed and in progress, as the policy sets out. A deliverable that misses its agreed acceptance criteria is reworked at our cost. To ask for a refund, email support@digitalheroes.co.in. We acknowledge the request within two business days, review it within five, and pay an approved refund within fifteen business days, back to the original payment method. Nothing here limits your statutory rights. Our terms of service apply too.

§ · questions

Questions before you check out.

Which package do I need, a customization or a theme built from scratch?

Choose Basic or Standard if your current theme already covers most of your storefront and the gaps are specific: a few new sections, a better product page, speed or accessibility fixes. Choose Premium when your design has outgrown any template, or your merchandising needs sections no base theme offers. We recommend the smaller package whenever it does the job, and if the kickoff call shows you picked the wrong one, we say so before work starts.

What happens after I pay?

Every order gets an email reply within 24 hours to book a kickoff call. On that call we confirm the scope of your package in writing and collect access to your store. Work starts after the call, on a draft theme in your store, delivered remotely by our engineers in Delhi and Lucknow with leadership in New York. If you would rather pay a deposit and then milestones instead of the full price, book a call before checking out.

How long does each package take?

Basic and Standard take 3 to 5 weeks, the range our theme customization page gives for work on an existing theme. Premium takes 7 to 12 weeks, the range for a theme built from scratch. Work starts after the kickoff call. What moves a project within its range is the depth of the section library, the number of templates in play and how quickly content and feedback come back.

What if I want to change the scope during the project?

The package price covers the scope confirmed in writing at the kickoff call. If you want something outside it, such as more sections or another template, we write up the change and you decide in writing whether to add it. None of that extra work starts until you have agreed to it.

Who owns the theme code and the store accounts?

You do. The theme lives in your Shopify store and its code sits in a GitHub repository under your organization. Under our terms of service, the designs and code we write for your project are assigned to you on full payment. If your store runs a paid Theme Store theme, that base theme stays under its developer's license; our additions to it are yours. Your Shopify store, apps and other accounts stay in your name throughout.

Are Shopify, theme and app costs included in the package price?

No. Your Shopify plan, any paid Theme Store theme license and app subscriptions are paid by you directly to Shopify or the app developer. Shopify adds recurring app charges to your Shopify bill, though some apps bill you outside it. The package price covers our design and development work only.

Can I get a refund?

Our refund and cancellation policy applies to every package, and the full text is on our refund page. You can cancel by written notice at any time: we stop work, deliver everything completed up to that point, and you pay for the work completed and in progress, as the policy sets out. A deliverable that misses its agreed acceptance criteria is reworked at our cost, and if it still fails after the agreed rework rounds, you can reject it and ask for a refund of the part of the payment tied to it. To ask for a refund, email support@digitalheroes.co.in. We acknowledge the request within two business days, review it within five, and pay an approved refund within fifteen business days, back to the original payment method. Nothing here limits your statutory rights.

What support do I get after launch?

Every package includes 30 days of support after handover for the work we delivered, with handover notes and a recorded walkthrough so your team can edit the new sections in the theme editor without code. After that, ongoing theme work runs as a Shopify maintenance plan or a theme retainer, agreed separately.
